I am curJill Darbanrently licensed as an acupuncturist by the State of Arizona, and board certified by National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine, which includes both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.  This qualifies me to diagnose, formulate, and dispense herbal formulas. As an instructor and clinical supervisor at the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, I am dedicated to teaching future acupuncturists.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Central Washington University in 1983. I was board certified with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Specialist in Hematology in 1992.  I received a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2007 from the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  Since 2008, I have had ongoing training in scalp acupuncture with Dr. Qingming Zhu, well known for his innovative work with strokes and other neurological problems. I have attended more recent seminars given by Dr. Shi Xue Min, who was featured in the documentary movie 9000 Needles, and  is China’s most prominent acupuncturist and researcher in treating strokes and other neurological conditions. Additionally, I have extensive training in cancer care using acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Jeffrey Yuen, who is also very well known and respected throughout the world. I have added to this knowledge through training given by Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Acupuncture for the Cancer Patient. I continue to add to my knowledge to provide you the best care possible.

My 20 years of service in medicine provides me with a solid base for practicing acupuncture and herbal medicine. Using this knowledge, I strive to provide professional care which best addresses the health needs of my clients.

While I treat a variety of health conditions, my special emphasis is cancer care, chronic pain, post-stroke sequelae, head injury, and other neurological conditions. Whatever condition we will be treating, I hope you will find the environment of my treatment room to be safe, relaxing, professional and caring.    Jill Darban
